Featured artists included the Kirov Orchestra, Valery Gergiev,  Maxim Shostakovich, Vadim Repin, Nikolai Lugansky,Alexander Toradze. Nikolai Lugansky performed 3 solo pieces by Rachmaninov.

December 13 - Guest appearance on A Prairie Home Companion with Garrison Keillor.

The Prairie Home Companion is a National Public Radio programme which is regularly heard by an audience of over 3.9 million listeners.

December 19 - Rome, Italy. Rachmaninov Piano Concerto No. 3 with St. Petersburg Philharmonic under Yuri Temirkanov.

This concert concluded a year-long series of cultural events celebrating the 300th anniversary of the city of St. Petersburg. Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4 was the other work on the programme.
